My niece graduated recently. My wife wanted to give her something special for her graduation. My niece is really close to her and she decided to give her jewelry as a gift. She was able to find her a nice set. Browsing the web, she found a great site at http://www.joyjewelers.com. She got a very good deal for the set which she asked to be delivered to my niece directly. The set would go well with the gown she’ll be wearing at the graduation ball.

My twin granddaughters are so delighted with what my wife gave them. They love jewelry and often plays with their mom’s earrings, necklaces and bracelets. They would dress up and look at themselves in the mirror. They look so cute when they’re do this. My wife ordered Sequin bangles from Reeds.com. They wouldn’t take them off and would even go to bed wearing them. My little angels are so easy to please.

Who said Pandora’s box is full of not so good things? My wife’s box is full of pandora beads and they’re beautiful. She loves these kinds of jewelry. They’re elegant but not costly. They are easier to match with anything she wears. She’s worn them on several formal occassions and our friends like them too. In fact, all her friends have them too. Her Pandora’s box is a box full of goodies.

One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make was whether I will propose to my long-time girlfriend, Jane or not. We had been dating exclusively for two years before I finally had the courage to ask her to move in with me. That necessitated a lot of adjustments on my part. I had been a lonely wolf since I started college and having someone in my apartment with me on a daily basis took some getting used to.

Now that I have become adjusted to living with someone, having someone beside me at night, Janine has started to drop hints about getting married. That scared me even more because I am not one to take such a lifetime commitment lightly. I am sure that I love Janine. I cannot imagine life without her. But I do not know if I am ready to give up my single life yet. And I am not sure if I am ready to start a family.

I talked to a lot of people about it. I even consulted my therapist about it. But therapists never really give you straight answers. They allow you to think things through. So for months I thought of little else except getting married. I am now 32 years old. Janine is 28. I know that as a woman gets older, pregnancy becomes harder for her. And although I was not sure about being ready for it, I knew that I wanted to be a father someday.

The more I thought about it, the more it made sense to me that getting married was the next step for Janine and me. So, I set about the difficult task of preparing for the proposal. All girls want a romantic proposal so I had to plan than. And then there is the thing about an engagement ring. It has to be really special. Janine deserved nothing less. So like most everyone I know, I went online. I found a site called Diamondstoresreview.com, a really helpful website which reviews jewelry stores. The site’s Tappers Jewelry review caught my attention so I checked out the website of the store. What I found on the website I liked so I decided to pay their store a visit.

I visited their store in Troy as that is the nearest to my location. As soon as I walked in, I had a feeling I would have no problem finding the perfect ring for my future bride. The store had a sterling list of designers whose designs are renowned all across the US and Canada. I found the playful colors of Marco Bicego’s jewelry quite amusing. I knew Janine would love that collection but his designs did not match what I had in mind for my purpose. I was also impressed with the collection of David Yurman. I liked the free spirited simplicity of his creations but they did not fit into my image of engagement rings either. In the end, it was a toss-up between a ring from Gregg Ruth’s collection and one from the popular brand “Hearts on Fire.” With the help of their very informative and professional consultant, I finally purchased the ring by Hearts on Fire.

It is hard enough for a man like me to even consider getting engaged. I never imagined it would ever happen to me but when it did, it hit me like lighting: unexpected and swift. Man! The day I woke up and realized I was in love was probably the lowest and highest point in my life. I thought I was immune to all that so finding myself in that situation was indeed a terrible let down. But Debbie’s face flashed through my mind – my pretty girl so caring and kind and the bit of revulsion I felt momentarily at the thought of being in love faded almost instantly.

I’m in love! I never thought I would ever be in love. But here I am like a lovesick schoolboy yearning for his dream girl. This can only happen once in my lifetime so I cannot let this girl go. I have to make sure she is tied to me ASAP before anyone else grabs her from me. I have to propose!

I cannot propose without a ring. Guess that goes without saying. Thus began the frantic search for a diamond engagement ring. I am not rich but I got a lot saved up. I never was the fool who goes around spending my hard earned cash for frivolities. I got some stashed. There’s got to be something on Google so surfing I went. But I need to be sure that the online stores selling these rocks are reliable, right? Can’t be proposing with a ring my girl won’t like. So, I searched for online diamond reviews and found Lewis Jewelers reviews at a website. I found the website very informative and truly helpful. A definite plus is the fact that the website contains articles on diamond education. For an ignoramus like me, the articles were truly informative and helped me when I finally shopped for an engagement ring.

The Lewis Jewelers website provided links to online catalogs of designer engagement ring makers which gave me an idea of how much a decent engagement ring might cost me. Hey! For my special girl, every cent is worth it. Searched the net for more information on diamond pricing and grading for guidance on my purchase and found loads, as expected. I knew diamonds were expensive but, man; the prices of these rocks are sky high. Ten thousand bucks for an engagement ring made me stop to think for a moment. But, hey, my Deb deserves only the best. Man, was I pretty pleased to find that Lewis Jewelers have bridal sets which can save me quite a bit. The engagement ring matches with a wedding band and you get quite a hefty discount if you purchase both. I have to admit I always have been on the frugal side so such a large amount purchase certainly is out of character. I finally made up my mind to buy a platinum bridal set for $13,450. Now all I have to do is cook up one cool way to propose to my special girl.

We never thought that my uncle would agree to become a Mason. One of his colleagues at work recruited him and now he proudly displays his masonic ring to us. He never believed in this brotherhood before so it surprised us that he agreed to become one. He says the group’s vision and mission opened his mind so he decided to join. I think he is happy with his decision and we are hoping that in joining the group, he’ll grow more as a person.

This afternoon, Dante’s mother is coming over so we can discuss the guest list for Dante’s and Isabel’s engagement party. It was set for Thanksgiving and we have a little over three weeks to prepare for it. When she came, Rebecca had a lot of questions about the engagement ring Dante and I had ordered during the weekend. So I turned on my laptop and went to http://www.whiteflash.com/. It was better to view site of loose diamonds and browse through online catalogue than describe to her the ring we chose.

I showed Rebecca the picture of the Alegria Pave engagement ring her son was going to present to Isabel on Thanksgiving. She loved our choice and I told her that I had managed to ask Isabel which she would choose if she was asked what engagement ring she would like to have and it was the Selene setting which she wanted. But she was disappointed that the diamond Dante had chosen was less than a carat and I told her that a one-carat loose diamond we originally chose was over Dante’s budget so we had to settle for a smaller one.

At that point, Rebecca said she had to call Dante so I excused myself to get her some refreshments. When I got back with a drink, she announced that plans had changed. She would be back tomorrow to discuss the guest list but today, we have to go back to the Whiteflash showroom in Sugarland. We had to ask the jewelers if we can still change the diamond that was supposed to be at the center of Isabel’s engagement ring. Rebecca wanted a one-carat diamond and she would take care of the difference in the price.

So off to Houston we went. The jeweler said since we had ordered the ring only a day ago, there was enough time to change our choice for the center diamond. So he showed us the enthralling array of loose one-carat diamonds that were available at that time and we poured over them for a bit before we decided on a loose round cut diamond a little over a carat. It was almost $2,000 more than the one we had originally chosen so Rebecca wrote out a check while I browsed through the display in the store.

Having finished her transaction with the jeweler, Rebecca joined me in pouring over the rows and rows of exquisite jewelry on the display cases. She had the idea of giving Isabel a diamond pendant on the occasion of her engagement with Dante as a welcome gift into their family. I suggested that if she really wanted to welcome Isabel into their family, she might want to postpone giving it to Isabel till their wedding day. I too wanted to buy Isabel a bracelet to gift her on her wedding day. Rebecca loved the idea and said that perhaps it would be great to find a matching pendant and bracelet set. But it was getting late so we decided to meet some other day to decide on the necklace and bracelet set we would be giving Isabel on their wedding day.

My granddaughters recently celebrated their first birthday. It’s a tradition that I give them jewelry. I bought them both a set of sterling silver jewelry. Each set had a pair of earrings, a necklace and a bracelet. I had their names engraved on the bracelets. I had them wear the jewelry during the party. They looked so pretty as the jewelry matched their party dresses. Such sweet jewelry for sweet babies.

I’ve always wanted to give the women in my life something special. When I say women, I mean my wife, daughter and mother. For the day of hearts, I each gave them birthstone jewelry for women. I gave it them during dinner. They each gave me a hug and a kiss. We had a great Valentine’s Day dinner and I made the women in my life very happy.

My daughter has a new best friend, created diamond solitaire earrings. My wife gave her a pair for our granddaughters’ christening. They looked like rare diamonds as they were orange. I did not know that diamonds come in different colors. Apparently, diamonds can be cultured. You can create them in different colors. If you think they are inferior to the natural ones, they are not. They were so elegant and caught everyone’s attention. Our guests kept complementing her earrings and asking her where to obtain them.  Well, she is more than willing to reveal them and in no time, I am sure most of her friends will be wearing these rare diamonds.
