On my way from from my parents’ place last Saturday, I had a little mishap. I passed through the service road along EDSa as I just gassed up. An undisciplined bus decided to stop in the middle of the lane. There was enough space for me to pass on the left side. I did no notice a short bent tube that was left unattended by the MMDA. My left wheel struck it ruining my expensive mag wheels. It also tore my bumper’s chin spoiler. Just because some nut put up poles without reflectors that are supposed to discipline buses, I now have to spend several thousands of pesos to buy new wheels and a spoiler.
This is how the MMDA maintains sanity on the streets, with insane methods that they simply do not look after. The only good thing that came out of the small mishap was no one got hurt. It was also good that I was driving slowly and avoided more expensive repairs. How I wish that drivers be more disciplined and that the authorities will do their jobs in earnest. At the end of the day, we law abiding drivers are the ones who pay for their recklessness.
