It’s the 4th of July. In search of independence and national identity, the American fought for the right to become a nation. The United States of America was born and has become a great nation. To my American friends, Happy Independence Day. We Filipinos celebrate this as the Fil-Am Friendship Day. Americas legacy in the Philippines is not just independence but self-determination. We recently inaugurated a new president. Democracy is America’s gift to the Filipinos. Like the USA in its infancy faced many threats to democracy. Hopefully someday, we too will be able to make democracy work for the people. Happy Music Monday to all.
