This weekend, I’ll be helping my Dad repair his backyard terrace. Some of the tiles have seen better days. Chipped and cracked, my Dad wants to use granite this time around. So I checked out a particular granite tile which he preferred. It would look good for his terrace. So I’ll have a very busy weekend but I’m sure I’ll have loads of fun.

I’m a DIY man. I love doing repairs and makeovers myself. This way I can save on labor and get the results I want. I’ve started repainting our stairwell which is quite high. Aside from using a safety harness, my ladder also has nonslip strips that gives me fall protection. Accidents happen when people disregard safety. I use equipment that has safety features that could give me added protection when I work. One can never be sure and an ounce prevention is always better than a pound of cure.

A big package arrived yesterday. It’s the set of  Brembo brakes I ordered through the internet. I’ve been waiting for these for several weeks now. I’m upgrading my car’s brakes since I had modified the engine. More horsepower needs better brakes. So my ever handy  box cutter had its work cut out for it. It felt like Christmas in August for me. I’m what they call a gearhead. Now I can’t wait to test my new brakes.

Darn! Our kitchen faucet’s leaking again. This is the third time in six months and I’m getting tired of changing the washers. But this time around, the faucet broke at it’s base. So now I have to change the entire faucet. I went looking for a new one and I picked up a Grohe faucet which the guy from the home depot suggested. It may be a bit pricey but no other company guarantees my satisfaction. I’d rather spend more for quality than get a persistent headache.
