I’ve been staying up late and waking up early. With the unpredictable weather, I’ve come down with the colds. I’m not getting any younger and it’s imperative that I take vitamins everyday. They help with my daily mineral requirements and to help me stay fit. I just take the essentials to prevent myself from being to dependent on them. As we become too busy, we forget the importance of eating the right foods. At least with the vitamins in the market, we can still get the nutrients our body need.

We’ve caught the technology bug. We’re so into it that our lives are dependent on the gadgets we own. Sometimes I envy those who still live simple lives, uncomplicated by the technology that enslaves most of us. I just hope that machines wouldn’t take over whatever humanity we have left.

My bed needs a new mattress. The old one isn’t that comfortable enough anymore. Even our dog could feel this as he moves around the bed looking for a perfect spot to sleep on. Over the weekend, I’ll be shopping around for a mattress that would give me a good night’s rest. I’m not getting younger and my back definitely needs a good rest after a day’s work.

I used this commandment to dissuade anyone from using verses fro the Bible to defend a thief. It seems that plagiarism is becoming a growing concern among bloggers like me who write paid posts. So these people haven’t learned their lessons nor do they have any self-respect. Instead of earning honestly, they prefer to “STEAL” other people’s works.

It’s a shame to learn that some people can sleep soundly at night knowing too well that they are feeding their families with “DIRTY MONEY”. Times maybe hard but it does not justify a crime. So now I reiterate my call to these lowlifes: IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE BRAINS TO WRITE AN ORIGINAL WORK, YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS SIGNING UP WITH ADVERTISING NETWORKS!

Learn to play fair and be honest. You may get away with you crime now but it will soon catch up with you. God! I just can’t imagine how stupid these people can be.

We all know that the most popular platform is Microsoft. Most companies and even government agencies rely on the system not only for their data but daily operations as well. As the Information Technology advances, the need to be updated is a must. Companies are now treating applicants, especially those with the coveted Michrosoft certification as gold. This makes a lot of difference if you are in the IT industry. As competition gets tougher, more and more IT professionals enroll in microsoft it training classes to give them the edge.

More and more training schools now offer specialized courses that specifically target specific fields in IT. There are a myriad of fields that focuses on IT, and the more fields you study gives you more opportunities not only to learn but earn as well. Several of my friends have in fact taken some of these courses and are now certified by Microsoft. Some in fact have put up their own IT solutions businesses and are quite successful. My daughter intends to take up some of these training courses after she graduates from college this year. She too realizes the importance of these course for a more stable and rewarding future.

I’m glad that these courses are now widely offered. It has opened more opportunites to those who have chosen this career.

For more than a decade now, I’ve been oversseing a bowling association. It’s actually the first in my country. Over the years, taking care of its database and sending out announcements and tournament schedules has been quite a daunting task. Even with other management softwares, it’s still very hard work considering that very few colleagues have time in their hands to take care of the operations.

I’m sure some of you have the same dilemma as I do. Officers expect to much but they don’t want to share in the work. Even sponsors are hard to track down and through the years, we’ve lost some due to the tons of files we often overlook. Even members have been clamoring for a more efficient system to get updates and results. They also want to be active and meetings are hard to organize.

I asked an IT friend of mine for for some advice. He told me, “Create a Member-focused Website for your Organization.” I did follow his suggestion. Now our association has n interactive website. Members can now log in to join our forums. They can also view our funding for a more transparent operation. Sponsors have started to come in and updates and announcements can be viewed real time.

No more long working nights and my expenses have considerably decreased. Ah, the wonders of technology.

The Philippines is largely a Catholic nation. Religion plays a very big role in our everyday lives. As the country’s population continues to grow, poverty is rampant and more than half the population lives in poverty. Modern contraception has been a thorny issue since time immemorial. The Catholic Church has blocked the introduction of contraception in the country. Many a politician has earned the ire of the church because they view birth control as the only option in curbing the ballooning growth of the population.

The government in its bid to keep the support of the church has sided with its natural family planning method. It introduced instead, programs such as parent education. We all know that the natural method is highly unreliable and often results in unwanted pregnancies. Sex education in schools have also taken a backseat and teen pregnancies are common. Lack of information and availability of conraceptives in highly depressed areas have resulted in huge families.

Unless Filipinos are given a choice, poverty will never be arrested. The church with its protestations cannot offer anything concrete. Their continued rejection of contraception only exacerbates the situation. Now, more than half of the population lives in poverty. The government must make a stand, either it sticks to pleasing the church or let the people suffer. The church must learn to cope with the times. If it sticks to its backward views, then let it feed the people. Its their fault anyway.

Life definitely is very much like a pizza pie. It has toppings that could make it delicious or distasteful. But whatever the toppings may be, we make our lives. Just like pizza that we choose the topping to use. It’s us who make our destiny and we can control it.
